Monster Steps Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Monster Steps ("the app"), an iPhone app that turns your daily walking into a growing virtual monster. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
The app
Monster Steps reads step counts from Apple Health, converts them into XP when you collect them, and uses that XP to level up a virtual monster. Progress is stored on your device. The app is for personal, non-commercial use.
Subscriptions and purchases
Some features require a paid plan ("Step Monster Pro"). Plans may include monthly, yearly, or lifetime options. Prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and are charged through your Apple ID via the App Store.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or through the app's subscription management screen.
- A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and does not renew.
- If a free trial is offered and you are eligible, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
Payment processing, refunds, and billing disputes are handled by Apple under the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Your progress
XP and monster progress live on your device. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or changing devices may result in loss of progress. If a subscription lapses, access to the app may be locked until you renew; progress already earned is not deleted.
Health information
The app is for motivation and entertainment. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always follow guidance from a qualified health professional for health decisions.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misuse, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app
- attempt to manipulate XP, steps, or purchases unfairly
- use the app in any way that breaks applicable law
Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of progress or data on your device.
Privacy
How the app handles data is described in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
